必讀導讀

1. Measurement of reactor neutrino oscillation with the first JUNO data（Article）

JUNO 只用 detector completion 後 59.1 天資料，就同時高精度估計 $\sin^2\theta_{12}=0.3092\pm0.0087$ 與 $\Delta m_{21}^2=(7.50\pm0.12)\times10^{-5}\,\mathrm{eV}^2$ ，在 normal mass ordering scenario 下比既有全部量測組合精度再提升 1.6 倍。臨床無直接應用，但對大型低背景 detector、reactor monitoring 與 beyond-Standard-Model 參數測量是工程與統計驗證的里程碑。重點是它證明 JUNO 已能看見預期干涉圖樣，為未來 mass ordering 判定鋪路，而不是已經給出 mass ordering 結論。常見誤判：把 first data 的高精度 oscillation parameter measurement 誤讀成已經解決 neutrino mass ordering。

2. Improved quantum processor logical error rates via correction and detection（Article）

這篇用 trapped-ion QCCD 展示 fault tolerance 已可在非平凡 quantum circuit computation 中帶來實際錯誤壓低：兩種針對 ion-trap processor 優化的 code construction，包括 12-qubit code encoding two qubits 與 16-qubit tesseract colour code encoding four qubits，搭配 error detection 與 post-selection，使 logical error rates 相對多個 physical circuit baselines 改善 11× 到 800×。它的重要性在於從「理論上 error correction 需要低於 threshold」推進到「現有裝置已能在特定架構中看見 logical-level benefit」。但這仍不是通用、可規模化、無 post-selection 成本的大型量子電腦。常見誤判：把 post-selected logical error suppression 當成已能穩定執行大型實用量子演算法。

3. Analysis of trade-offs of post-sorting plastic packaging（Article, OA）

這篇直接呼應本期 editorial：post-sorting 可以增加進入回收流程的 feedstock，但不能被簡化成「一個垃圾桶比較方便且一樣乾淨」。研究以單一 material recovery facility 樣本比較 source separation 與 post-sorting，發現 target polymer purity 可相近，但 post-sorted bales 的 contaminant burden 較高，包括 prohibited metals such as cadmium and lead、較高 moisture and dirt、以及 elevated metals and halogens。政策含義是：後端分選可作為補充，特別用來捕捉 misthrows 與 non-participation 留下的塑膠；但若取代 household source separation，可能把毒性與處理成本轉嫁到 recyclate 品質與健康風險。常見誤判：只看 recycling rate 或 bale purity，就宣稱 post-sorting 可完全取代 household source separation。

6. Saturation editing of RNU4-2 reveals distinct dominant and recessive disorders（functional genomics, OA）

RNU4-2 是 non-protein-coding spliceosomal RNA；de novo variants 已知可造成 ReNU syndrome。這篇用 saturation genome editing 覆蓋整個 RNU4-2，產生 function scores，能區分 ReNU syndrome variants、population variants 與 VUS，並把 critical region 精細到 single-nucleotide resolution。更重要的是，研究發現 RNU4-2 其他區域的功能性變異可導致 distinct recessive neurodevelopmental disorder，而不是單一 dominant ReNU syndrome 光譜。臨床 genetics 的價值在於：noncoding variants 不能只靠保守性或一般 in silico predictor；功能性 variant map 可直接改善診斷、嚴重度推估與未來 therapeutic development。常見誤判：把 noncoding VUS 視為「多半無害」，或把所有 RNU4-2 pathogenic variants 都歸入同一 dominant ReNU syndrome。

7. mRNA vaccines engage unconventional pathways in CD8+ T cell priming（mechanistic）

這篇修正 mRNA-LNP vaccine 的免疫學直覺。傳統 viral infection、tumour 或 protein/cDNA vaccine 的 CD8+ T cell priming 常被視為高度依賴 cDC1 與 WDFY4-dependent cross-presentation；但研究顯示 mRNA-LNP vaccines 不需要單一路徑，而是 cDC1 與 cDC2 redundantly engaged。更關鍵的是 cross-dressing：cDCs 可從 non-haematopoietic cells 取得 peptide–MHC-I complexes，且受 type I interferon 影響。這可能解釋 mRNA-LNP 對 vaccine 未編碼抗原也能產生 CD8+ T cell activation 的現象。臨床轉譯上，癌症疫苗、感染疫苗與 adjuvant design 不能只用傳統 cross-presentation 模型推估 T cell response。常見誤判：把 mRNA-LNP vaccine 的 antigen presentation 直接套用傳統 viral infection 或 protein vaccine 的 cDC1-only cross-presentation 模型。

8. Structural basis of fungal β-1,3-glucan synthase inhibition by caspofungin（structural biology, OA）

這篇對 invasive fungal infection 治療有高度臨床間接價值。Echinocandins 的標的 β-1,3-d-glucan synthase 包含 Fks1 與 Rho1；研究用 cryo-EM 在 catalytically relevant conditions 下解析 Saccharomyces cerevisiae Fks1 與 caspofungin、nascent glucan、Rho1 的互作。結果顯示 caspofungin 不是單純堵住 active site，而是在 membrane–protein interface 與 nascent glucan、Fks1 形成 ternary complex，stall polymer translocation。S643P resistant structure 則指向 allosteric perturbation 與 direct steric clash 共同削弱 caspofungin/glucan binding。這為 next-generation antifungal design 與 FKS resistance interpretation 提供分子地圖。常見誤判：把 echinocandin resistance 視為單一 hot-spot mutation 問題，而忽略 drug–product–enzyme interface 與 Rho1-regulated catalysis 的結構脈絡。
